This kit is super easy to use and simple to install. You get the mount, two thin magnetic pieces, and the cleaning wipes.

The above picture is the mount itself. You will need to disassemble this to get it on your vent (see photo below). Be sure to read the instructions that come in the kit, it can be tricky to figure out at first. 

You place the "claw" part on the vent and crew the 'bolt' down so that the claw tightens and attaches in place. Then you put the mount itself on and screw that into place.

Once in place, you are ready to use it! Then you simply place one of the magnetic pieces into your phone case or you can peel off the sticker backing and place it directly to the back of your phone. 

It's got a pretty strong magnet in the mount, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling and crashing to its doom when you are driving. The ball on the end allows you to move your phone around and tilt it how you like. 

While the pictures I have here on my blog is not where I would have mounted it - it looks and works fantastic. I will be moving it to the center vent, however. I only put it on the vent you see, for picture taking. I really like this vent mount, and the price is fantastic too!

In addition to my "bum knee", I also have a foot that causes me some issues. I have been to a doctor a few times for it, and they want to do an MRI..blah blah blah. Of course they found nothing immediately wrong with it, but assume there's a muscle tear. Sounds fun, eh? Well, this leads me to occasional instances of swelling and sharp pain in my foot. This is a problem, since I stand on my feet and walk daily and have to stand at work as well.

This compression sleeve from Paratek is made for the foot and ankle, so it's perfect for my oddly places injury. Most ankle sleeves/braces do not cover the entire TOP of the foot, and that is where my issue is. 

I chose the size Large, but please note in the photos my foot was swollen - so it looks like the sleeve is too small. I think it's perfect, and it worked exactly how I was hoping. 

I wore this sleeve for about an hour, and my foot pain was gone and the swelling had went down completely. Problem solved!

Cherry Dr. Pepper Devils Food Cake RECIPE!

Today is my oldest daughters birthday, and while I am in still in a bit a denial about her age (and my own), I will still make her one of her faves. This cake is made with Cherry Dr. Pepper and that is her absolute favorite soda of all time, ever. I made this recipe up, but its based off several ones I randomly found last year online. This is a more simple version, with less butter and not 7 cups of powdered sugar. Anyway, this is a real "loosey-goosey" recipe. 

Cherry Dr.Pepper Devils Food Cake Recipe 

Recipe-ish: 

You will need -

• 1 box devils food cake mix (eggs and oil per box directions)
• Cherry Dr. Pepper or soda of the generic nature
• A jar of maraschino cherries 
• Frosting (I used a simple white frosting, but it can be any kind)
• 1 box instant pudding mix (again, your choice)
• Ice cream (optional, but you know you want it)

Directions-ish

Mix up 1 box devils food cake mix (I used Betty Crocker), like the directions - except add one box of instant devils food pudding mix, and replace the water with 1c Dr. Pepper, and 1/4c cherry juice (the liquid from those maraschino cherries). 

Bake for however long it takes for it to get done, this cake will be a bit taller than average. It will also take a few more minutes to bake (or it won't, I don't know for sure honestly)! 

Let cook for an hour or so, then frost (I used Betty Crocker "whipped white"). At time of serving- top with some cherries and more of the juice, if you want! 

Enjoy the nomnomnom.

This collagen mask helps rejuvenate and repair skin, simply by wearing it for about 30 minutes.  Directions state it is best to wear this lying down, to prevent the mask from sliding off your face. 

When you first open the package, be careful - there is a liquid that may spill out, it can be added back onto the mask (or applied to your skin). The mask itself is a jelly like film, that reminds me of a cross between fruit leather and gelatin. You simply pull it off the plastic, and put it on your face - smoothing it down with your fingertips to adhere it in place.

This mask smells fantastic. Its soft and won't damage your skin, although I do recommend lying down while wearing it.  Here's a short video of me wearing this mask!

Silicone mats have been around for a while, they really are one of the best inventions for the kitchen. They replace the need for parchment paper, and are designed to help the baker (amateur or pro) make the perfect cookies, cakes, pastries and other baked items. But it helps with more than just cookies! You can also use it for pizza dough, rolls, baked veggies (potatoes with a touch of olive oil and herbs, yummy!), candies, and almost anything you would bake on a cookie sheet. They are also reusable, and can last a lifetime!

This mat has a printed design that helps even more than a basic non-printed mat. Macaroons for example, need to be spaced perfectly in order for them too cook evenly and so they don't touch each other. 

In order to test this, we had to make cookies. *grins* So, chocolate chip cookies it is! See below for the awesome results. 

Line them up for perfect cookies.

Ok, we may have needed more flour, haha! But those are perfect to me, they don't stick to the mat and are perfectly brown. NOMNOMNOM!

Shaker bottles are one of the must-haves, especially if you drink powdered shakes (either the healthy ones or the less than healthy ones *wink). This bottle is made not only to hold those shakes, but to blend them up! 

The design is basic, you get a cup with a anti-leak flip top lid --I tested it. I shook it up and threw it around, and it never leaked. For me, this is very very important! The last thing you want to pull out of your bag is an empty cup when you know you made up a fresh shake before you put it in the bag! The sides of the cup have a no-slip grip material, as well. 

The blender ball is a small golf ball size metal spring, which you place inside the cup to shake up your...well, ...shake.

It's a yucky topic, sure. But we all have to deal with this at some point in our lives. Luckily this kit can make things much easier. Firstly, the set of 5 tools comes in a cute little silver case, that has a foam insert to hold the tools in place. Great for travel and a discreet way to hide them nosey people in your bathroom cabinet.

Please note: these tools are NOT TOYS. You should watch videos, read the information on the Amazon page HERE, and learn about how to properly use these tools - before you use them. You can do some serious damage to your skin if you are not careful.

PROS:

• Black-out fabric keeps vehicle cooler.

CONS:

• Blackout material limits visibility. 

 

These sun shades are great for a variety of uses, especially if you travel a lot (or are in the car a lot). The material is a smooth soft black material that blocks the majority of sunlight, so they not only protect the passengers skin from burning, it will cool down the inside as well by preventing the sun fro heating up the car. 

There are several suction cups to hold the shade in place, as well as the cord. They are high quality suction cups, that won't randomly pop off. You can move the suctions cups on the window to create a half-shade and then use the tie to keep it secure, or leave it hanging like in the picture below.  

These are very helpful for anyone, yet it should be noted they are made a a black-out material, so visibility could be limited if you use them to cover the windows completely. This may not be the case for ALL vehicles, but it was for my Explorer. In the car I used to have (Taurus), I do not think they would effect me so much since I don't have blind sports in the car like I do in the Explorer.  

The quality of the materials is impressive, the blackout fabric keeps the suns rays out and cools the car! Plus, you get TWO!

OgoSport OgoDisk H2O Party!

Hey everyone! This week's big adventure was an OgoSport OgoDisk H20 Party!

We had chips, cookies, bbq hotdogs and soda...and the OgoDisk H2O's from OgoSport. Oh, and a ton of water balloons. Yay, summer! The OgoDisks are round frisbee-like disks with a mesh on the inside. You get two disks per set, and a pack of 50 water balloons (you can buy them on Amazon, here). You'll want more water balloons. So many more. *grins*. 

The OgoDisk's are good for passing the water balloons back and forth and watching them pop on someone randomly ('hot potato'-style), or you can use the disks as a frisbee when you run out of balloons. 

We gave away the goodies to all the kids who came (not all the kids are in the pictures). But the major fun was trying to catch the balloons with the disks without popping them! 

These are great for pool play too! My kids and their friends loved playing with these, even when the balloons were gone.

Pros: 

• It holds a ton of stuff! *see all the pics below*
• Various straps and a belt clip. 
• It's cute, but not girly.  
• Room for doggie potty bags. 
• A little mesh bag in front that is "breathable".

Cons:

• I couldn't find any!! 

Firstly, I honestly love this item. It's a handy product to have for travel, or for taking your dog for a walk. A lot of people multi-task these days and walk their dog while doing other things (checking the mail and running for health, are a couple examples). This bag helps you keep the items you need and a few you might just want - all in one place. 

There are some really handy pictures on the Amazon page HERE that show in detail all the features that this small bag has. 

It looks small, but I put both of these cans of 13 oz. dog food in there. With room at the top to spare. 

In the picture below you will see the bag with a regular size water bottle and 2 bags of treats. This bag has plenty of room for whatever you may want, and a drawstring at the top to keep it all snug inside.

The handy places for all your necessities, including the white mesh in the front for a cell phone. It's a "breathable" fabric, so it wont muffle your ring tones! There are also two strap options and a belt clip, which gives you the choice of having it hang from your own belt, using the belt strap, or using the long strap as a shoulder strap. There is a place to put potty bags in the back, with a dispenser for grabbing one as needed. . 

This bag is a real 'must-have' for anyone with pets, it's not just for dogs!

Zesty Paws Join Support - Mobility Enhancing Formula.

My dog, Lyla is only 2 years old...but she has some hip issues, she whimpers at times when she jumps up onto the sofa. There are times when she doesn't feel like running or being a playful pup. This supplement is made for pets that have had an injury in the past or like my Lyla- any pet who may have a genetic disposition to joint issues. 

This supplement from Zesty Paws is specifically formulated to help improve pets mobility. The webpage says these chewables "are all-natural chews made with glucosamine chondroitin for joint mobility and a host of other wholesome nourishing ingredients including vitamin E and flaxseed meal" (ZestyPaws, 2017). 

Pros:

• They have a duck flavored 'coating' on them, so my dog was sniffing these things like she wanted to eat them whole. 
• Chewable means crushable, so they can be easily smashed up and added to foods. 
• For both dogs AND cats, so you only have one bottle for both pets. No worries of mixing up the wrong supplements for the wrong animal. 
• Also promotes heart health. 

Cons:

• These are a bit large for MY dog, and much too large for a cat. HOWEVER~ your dog may gobble them up whole, and/or they can be broken smaller or crushed. I smashed them up into canned food, they ate it with no problems at all.  

Overall, these are fantastic. I really like that the chewables have a flavor to them, since a lot of animals will "pick out" the foreign ingredient in wet foods (which is how I always sneak pills and medicines, it works on kids too...haha). The duck flavor makes my pets want to eat them, and not leave them in the bowl. 

I have been giving these to my dog for only 3 days, so I can not judge how well they work on a long term basis...but I admit I DO notice she is happy to jump around when she usually doesn't.

Pros:

• Has lines of anti-slip silicone on the inside, so it stays in place.
• Machine washable.
• Available in 3 sizes.

Cons:

• No color options. Black with blue are the only color option (for now). This really isn't a "con", but I would love it in purple! ☺☺

The Review

A compression sleeve of any sort is great for anyone with arthritis or just a "bad knee" type issue. I myself have a "bad knee", while I am not sure there is anything technically wrong with it, - it hurts all the dang time. Using this compression sleeve helps alleviate the majority of pain and gives support to my knee in order to be more physically active. 

Click the video below to see how 'stretchy' the fabric is, it shows how well you will be able to move and be active. 

You simply pull the sleeve on, adjust it to how you want it and it will stay there. The inside of the sleeve (at the top) has two lines of gripping silicone to keep the sleeve in place. The knee sleeve comes in 3 sizes, and it is important to choose the appropriate size, so the compression does what it is intended to do. Be sure to measure your leg/knee and get the right fit before you order!

Small: 14.5-17 inches

Medium: 17-19.5 inches

Large: 19.5-22 inches

Overall, this product delivers what it promises. It keeps my knee slightly immobilized while allowing movement. It helps relieve the pain I normally feel and is comfortable enough to wear every day.
