Hi again everyone! Last week, we had a game night featuring 3 games from RoosterFin! #roosterfingames
RoosterFin Games, founded by Joe Balcuk, are teacher created games that are simple, family friendly and easy to learn.
The three games we tried are: Ninja Squirrels, Wizard Roll and Bouncing Bots. All games are rated for ages 7 and up.
So, let's go! First we started with Bouncing Bots....
The Bots! |
Bouncing bots is a great game for kids around 7 -10 years of age (maybe a bit older, too!). The goal is to "bounce" the plastic Bot characters onto the platform. Then you score points based on where those bots land on the platform. Very simple and easy to learn, it may take some practice to get those Bots to bounce properly - which makes it even more fun.

Next up, Ninja Squirrels! This game is VERY competition oriented! The goal of this game, which is suitable for all ages, even adults; is to get those nuts!

Character cards, not game play cards. |
It's similar to the card game we used to call "War", from years back. You get a stack of cards and everyone takes a turn flipping the card over to reveal a squirrel (game cards shown in the pic below). When a player plays a card that has a squirrel wearing an entire matching outfit (colors are green, blue, purple and orange) - you grab that color nut as fast as you can. Whoever grabs it first, wins that nut. Then you continue playing until the nuts have all been claimed.

And the final game of the night...Wizard Roll!
Wizard Roll. |
Wizard Roll is a bit more complicated than the other two games, but easy enough for kids to figure out. The goal here is to collect the ingredients on the spell card, to complete the spell. Each spell is worth various points and you play (roll of the dice decides which spell ingredients you get each turn) until someone gets the winning amount of points.

This was a fun game, and very clever!

Woooooo!
An added note - I must say this! The quality of the game parts and pieces is exceptional! The cards are thicker than a usual playing card, and all the other bits and parts are made very well to hold up over time. I am impressed so much by this, I had to mention it!
