Sunless Tanning Mist - Product Review

Sunless Tanning Mist - Product Review

Hey everyone! Well, it's been a long while since I have gotten to do a full blog review for anything- but here I am! I've got several small product blips on Facebook and Instagram, but this is the first one since Covid jumped into our lives.

This product is something many people use throughout the year, but with winter nipping at our heals and the beaches and local pools being limited - we need a bit of sun however we can get it!

This Sunless Tanning Mist from Pureauty Naturals is available at Walmart. It boasts about being easy to apply, and fast drying...and claims to be a 'natural tone enhancer'. These things sound lovely, but...how real is this fake tan?? So, I tried it and talked my daughter into trying it too.

First thing I noticed is the spray nozzle. A fine mist is very essential for me, I want this to be the most simple process ever. A few years back I would use a tanning spray only to have it running down my legs and dripping all over the floor, leaving large dark spots on my skin because the spray nozzle had not been high enough quality to give a fine mist. This nozzle IS in fact, a fine mist nozzle. Yay!

So, we tried it. I did my right leg and my daughter did her left leg...just to be different. Heh. The product comes out in a very fine mist, and the directions state simply how to use it - spray about 12 inches from skin, allow to dry. I liked the smell, although it is a bit strong. The product took about 10-15 minutes to dry.

Above you can see the results after the first application. We allowed it to 'develop' for 3 hours. Since it didn't really change our skin by much...we applied it again (as the directions suggested). We did a second application the next day....

The above pictures are after 2 application on day two, and 3 hours after it dried.

Overall, this product does exactly what it promises. The color/darkness will vary based on your skin tone (as you can see in our pictures), and the number of times you apply. I was very happy with the results. Best of all - no need to use my hands to rub the product around to prevent streaks!!

My tip...make sure you apply a thin, even layer each time. You can always do another application, but adding too much product will make it build up on your skin and drip (just like spray paint would).

I received this product for free, in exchange for my honest review.

Test & Review: Tastmate Jar & Bottle Opener ....will it work for ME?

Tastmate Jar and Bottle Opener

A simple thing, being able to open a jar. But, honestly...not so much when you've got arthritis or other issues with your hands. Over the past couple of years I realize I have lost the strength I once had in my hands, not that I was super strong to start with. I find myself having trouble opening jars, especially jars of salsa....and that makes me sad.

Needless to say, I was pretty happy to try this product out and see if it does all it should do. It's a simple design, made of a rust resistant stainless steel and a plastic handle.

Well...presto! This handy gadget actually does work!

Ok so the directions are in a bit of broken English, but it's not rocket-science. All you do is set the opener on top of the jar, and allow it to re-size itself to fit the lid...and turn it. Counter clock-wise! It did take me a few tries before I realized I was turning it the wrong way. So...counter clock-wise, and it comes off nice and easy.

It's a simple little tool, but it's really come in handy. I didn't realize it would make opening a jar so much easier...and I don't have to cut the top off of salsa jars anymore! No more unopened jars!

....and we're back! ...First review: Mountain Dew - Zero Sugar

Product Review: Mountain Dew - Zero Sugar

So, yeah ...took some time off...and now I'm back with a very long to-do list for this blog. Too long, probably. I don't really know where to start; so I will be just jumping into it blinding and making everyone think I totally have it all planned out.

I am trying not to drink sugary beverages. Soda...mmm yummy delicious soda...it is my largest vice...I love them so much. Diet sodas...*sigh*. They make me ugh...just..ugh. I WILL drink them, but I will complain and make faces at it the entire time.
Soooo...magically, almost as if PepsiCo people KNEW I needed a high caffeinated sugar-free beverage....*cue angelic music*--- Mountain Dew Zero Sugar was released (Jan 13th)!

I buy one...just to try. I assumed it would be a diet version like the other sugar free versions of sodas and it will be yucky and make me unhappy. It has the familiar green glow of the original Mt. Dew that has brightened so many peoples mornings over the years. But...how does it taste?

I sip. *one eyebrow goes up*. I sip more...and then more. It's yummy...how? I don't care how...I drink the 20 oz bottle in a 20 minutes...whatever. It's now my new go-to soda!! It has almost the exact same flavor as the original Dew, and with the 113mg of caffeine per 20oz...they've sold me without even trying. Wooo!

I give this product a 10/10. I have no negatives to add.

Product Review: Essential Oil Diffuser Locket Bracelet

Product Review: Essential Oil Locket Bracelet

Amazon Link: HERE

Review Video: HERE

Once again...we have an essential oil related item, because essential oils are awesome. This essential oil bracelet is sold on Amazon from Shopping Story.

For this review I received the Lovely Tree design in Rose Gold. The bracelet does come in other colors and designs (Cute Heart and Sunflower designs; both in Rose Gold are also available on Amazon).

Included in the gift box is the bracelet and eight different colored circular felt pads. You can see them in the various pictures I took on this page or in the video; colors are Orange, Blue, Red, Purple, Pink, Black, White and Green.

Use of this bracelet is very simple, unscrew the cover (the tree cut-out) add the felt pad (circle cut felt pieces) and replace the cover. See the above picture!

Add one or two drops of essential oil or fragrance oil to one of the felt pads for all day fragrance. I recommend using a small amount at first, until you can gauge how much you need. If too much oil is used it may leak out and stain clothing or other items. You can use a different scent for each pad, and change them as you like.

Of course...you CAN wear it without any felt pads...it's very pretty on its own!

Here's the unboxing/show-off video I made, showing the bracelet in use:

This is a great gift idea, especially for women who can't pick just one perfume -- or for a woman who can't use perfume for allergy reasons.

Product Review: Riwbox IN5 Foldable Headphones

Product Review: Riwbox IN5 Foldable Headphones

Amazon Link HERE

Unboxing Video HERE

These Riwbox headphones are not only foldable, but they come with a handy little bag to keep them in, and the cord has a built in mic!

The above two photos are of the headphones inside the bag, as you can see they fit perfectly when folded. You could even stick your cell phone in there. Included in the box are the headphones, bag, the cord and a small instruction booklet. *see the unboxing video*

The headphones come with a cord, that is 1.2m long -or about 47inches according to Google. The jack is 3.5MM . This is compatible with most devices - it worked on my smartphone (Samsung), my laptop, my MP3 player, and a tablet we have. I assume this is one of the most common jacks, so it should work with the majority of music/video devices.

The cord also has an option for controlling various options. There are buttons for volume and the play button can be used to pause and play music. I tried this with my Smartphone and it worked perfectly. It's a very handy thing to have, honestly - I don't have to fiddle with my phone to turn it up or down, I just press a button on my cord!

The ear pieces are soft, they refer to them as "protein earpads". I call them soft and squishy, and they form a nice seal around the ear to block out a large amount of outside sounds.

The head band also has cushion on the under-side and they are very comfortable to wear. The sides are adjustable, so you can make them larger if you need to. They are a lightweight alloy, yet are sturdy enough to last a long time if properly cared for.

I do recommend these headphones - I compared these to a pair I recently got from Walmart of similar design (and about the same price). The sound is MUCH better and these headphones are far more comfortable to wear. The storage bag and cord with built in controls is an added bonus!

Product Review: DAFQCO Extra Slim Vent Clip Cell Phone Holder

Product Review: DAFQCO Extra Slim Vent Clip Cell Phone Holder

Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGX3WLX

This kit is super easy to use and simple to install. You get the mount, two thin magnetic pieces, and the cleaning wipes.

*click any picture to enlarge it*

The above picture is the mount itself. You will need to disassemble this to get it on your vent (see photo below). Be sure to read the instructions that come in the kit, it can be tricky to figure out at first.

You place the "claw" part on the vent and crew the 'bolt' down so that the claw tightens and attaches in place. Then you put the mount itself on and screw that into place.

Once in place, you are ready to use it! Then you simply place one of the magnetic pieces into your phone case or you can peel off the sticker backing and place it directly to the back of your phone.

It's got a pretty strong magnet in the mount, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling and crashing to its doom when you are driving. The ball on the end allows you to move your phone around and tilt it how you like.

While the pictures I have here on my blog is not where I would have mounted it - it looks and works fantastic. I will be moving it to the center vent, however. I only put it on the vent you see, for picture taking. I really like this vent mount, and the price is fantastic too!

  • Dr. Oz and leading plastic surgeons endorse Vitamin C for anti-aging, anti-wrinkles, and for taking decades off your face.
  • Safer than a chemical peel and cheaper than a facelift. Vitamin C can give similar results.
  • Applying vitamin C to the skin is up to 20 times more effective than taking it orally.
  • Highest concentration of Vitamin C available at approximately 20%. If we added more the product would be runny and not absorb as well.
  • No parabens. No chemicals. No preservatives. No Formalin. No Formaldehyde. No Phthalates. No Petro-chemicals No GMO. No Triclosan. No Fragrance. No Colors. Not tested on animals. No wrinkles. No worries.
(from the Amazon listing found here).

Review:

I applied this liquid (colorless, with a hint of some kinda of fragrance that smells really good) twice a day for about 7 days. The liquid absorbs fairly fast, and makes my skin feel 'stiff' for a few minutes, and then it's fine. I didn't actually notice a difference as far as improvements to my skin --but, to be fair: I only used this for 7 days, and that's not long enough!

A very small amount, maybe three drops, was needed for my entire face. So, this one bottle will last a very long time.

I had no negative effects at all from this product, and it did not dry my skin at all.

Solid Cordz® Extension Cords Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

  • Convenient & Money saving 5-pack
  • Extends the AC outlet to prevent clutter and outlet blockage by the AC adapters
  • Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed & CSA Approved for TOP QUALITY
  • Cables are fully Rated for 125 Volt/13 Amp applications

At first I thought these things may not be all that useful, but I am rather thankful that I had them recently! While the main reason for these one foot extension cords is to eliminate clutter on a power strip, I used them as I needed this holiday. I added one to the extension cord for the Christmas tree lights, making them even more easy to plug and unplug. I also used them for crock-pots at the festive parties; the extra foot helped the fairly short cords on the crock-pots reach the outlets, which are never close enough--without adding the bulk of a long extension cord.

Bottom line - these are super handy!

Product Review: Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes

Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes

Bruschetta recipe at the end of this post!

For review are two varieties of Sun Dried Tomatoes (in jars) from Bella Sun Luci @ Moody Farms. On the left in the photo above: Sun Dried Julienne-Cut Tomatoes in Olive Oil and Fine Herbs, and on the right:  Bruschetta with Italian Basil Sun Dried Tomatoes and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

So, I (with the aid of three overly enthusiastic kids) made up a bruschetta recipe (which I have included below). It turned out really good! My youngest (age 9) didn't want to try the sun dried tomatoes at first, claiming they are 'yucky'. He not only ate his portion, but wanted more!

And...the recipe!

Simple Cheese Bruschetta

French Bread, sliced.
Parsley (or any fresh herb, chopped).
Provolone Cheese, sliced into strips.
Ricotta Cheese.
Olive Oil.
Parmesan Cheese (optional).

Directions. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place sliced bread on baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil LIGHTLY! Spread ricotta cheese on each slice (thicker or thinner layer, depending on taste). For the version above I added about a teaspoon of the Bruschetta with Italian Basil Sun Dried Tomatoes, then a layer of provolone. On top, parsley and the Julienne Sun Dried Tomatoes on top. I also added Parmesan cheese on top! Bake until cheese is melted (about 10 minutes).

Note: Because both of these versions of Sun Dried tomatoes are in olive oil--adding more olive oil to the bread may make it too oily! Beware!
